simplykimberly@livejournal.com BioI'm me, which isn't terribly descriptive, unless you know me. I live with my husband and my 15 year old step-grandson (from a previous marriage, but I have guardianship of him still) and more than the average number of cats.
I am currently accidentally "back in school", and am taking courses towards becoming a nurse.
I love to program, and used to work as a curriculum developer for Sun Microsystems. I got to write courseware, program labs for the classroom, and sometimes teach.
I spent many years self-employed teaching technical/programming stuff all over the country. I stopped in order to be at home more often.
We homeschool - it's a juggling act, for sure, but we love it. Currently that looks like community college for the kid, and I am there as well. That's how I accidentally got back into school.
I love to cook, quilt, garden (when I have time!), and take care of my family.
More recently, I've gotten into cake-decorating, and I've been teaching Wilton decorating at my local Michaels craft store.
I created this journal after changing my name when I got married, since my old journal had my maiden name as part of the name. It's also slightly more anonymous, while still being 'me'.
